Apunix Animator is an OPEN LOOK software package that allows users torecord a series of frame image data to video recording devices, such asVCR's and Laser Disk Masters, from their SPARC-based workstation.Apunix Animator allows a sequence of individual movie frames to be JPEGcompressed and then replayed in at up to 30 frames per second forrecording on a VCR or other video recording device in realtime. Apunixanimator is for use in conjuction with the Parallax XVideo Board.Its common applications are for use with a wide variety of applicationsthat output computer-generated image frames to be used in movie loops.Apunix Animator allows a movie loop of these image frames to be displayedon the screen with a selectable frame rate of anywhere between one to 30frames per second. At 30 frames per second, high-quality, full-motionanimation is achieved. In addition, the tool enables the movie loops tobe recorded directly to a VCR or Laser Disk Mastering system in realtime.Existing recording techniques either use scan rate converts whichcompromise image quality and frame recording techniques that makes thehours of realtime to record even short movie segments to a VCR.
